Privacy Policy

Last updated: 2026-11-04

This policy explains what information FBDown (“we”) processes when you use fbdown.video. Short version: no account is needed, we never ask for your social media passwords, and we keep as little as possible.

Information we process

Links you submit. When you paste a Facebook or Instagram link, our server uses it to request the public video details from the platform. The link is processed to complete your request and is not tied to your identity.

Server logs. Like almost every website, our web server records basic technical data: IP address, browser type, the page requested, time and response status. We use these logs for security, abuse prevention (for example rate limiting) and to fix errors. Logs are kept for a limited time and then deleted.

Downloaded files. We do not store the videos or audio you download. Files are streamed from the platform’s servers to your device.

Cookies and analytics

FBDown does not need cookies to work. We may use analytics or a small number of cookies to understand overall usage (such as which pages are visited). If we add third-party services such as Google Analytics or advertising partners, they may set their own cookies under their own policies, and this page will be updated.

Third parties

Video data comes from Facebook and Instagram (Meta). When you download, your device connects to their content servers, which are covered by Meta’s privacy policy.

Children

FBDown is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from them.

Your rights

You can ask what data we hold about you, or ask us to delete it, by emailing [email protected]. Because we don’t run accounts, in most cases nothing is linked to you beyond short-lived server logs.

Changes

We may update this policy. The date at the top shows the latest version.
